COUNCIL MEETING
Mayor Grange Coffin called
the meeting of the Meggett Town Council to order. Present were Mayor Pro-tem
Reeves Bair, Council members Tommy Butler, , Keith McCarty and Attorney Dennis
Rhoad. Attorney Rhoad led the group in prayer followed by the Pledge of
Allegiance by Mayor Coffin.
Minutes from the March
meeting were read and approved.
Meggett 1925
No report was given for the
1925 project.
Old Business
There was no old business.
New Business
Pro-tem
Reeves Bair said that Little Britton Road was in need of resurfacing in the
area by Roy Smoak’s place.
Miscellaneous Reports
Administrator
Ellie Prentiss provided the following information.
1) The budget workshop has been scheduled for May 21st
at
2) A workshop will be scheduled with Council and
Charleston Water Works after the election for the purpose of setting guidelines
for sewer tie-in’s to the Meggett Force Main.
3) Town Council Meeting for May will be on Tuesday, May
29th at
4) Evening in Meggett is scheduled for the 31st

5) April 26,
6) May 1st is election day and everyone will vote at Town Hall.

8) May 3rd, the Municipal Elective Official
Institute of Government will present a satellite class.
Councilman
Tommy Butler asked how we did on the Arts and Crafts Festival. Ellie Prentiss responded that we did not
raise any money but broke even.
Public Comment
Beth Smoak asked to be
recognized and stated that the area on Little Britton Road referred to by
Councilman Reeves Bair would need about a 10’ patch but the problem area did
extend to both lanes of traffic.
With no further comments Meeting was motion to be adjourned by Keith McCarty and second by Tommy Butler.
