To whom it may concern:

This is a reminder that with the beginning of each new year, anyone who practices a profession or an occupation that will engage in work in the Town of Meggett will need to renew or obtain a Municipal Business License through the Town.

For anyone whose business is actually located in the Town of Meggett, the fee is based on the classification of the business and the gross income received from the previous year.  For anyone who does not have a business located in Meggett but performs work in the Town, the fee is based on the classification of the work and the gross income of the job performed in the Town of Meggett.  Please note that all contractors will need to obtain a business license for work performed in the Town before permits can be pulled.

For anyone whose business is actually located in the Town of Meggett, the renewal must be submitted before February 29, 2008 in order to avoid a late fee.

We have enclosed a rate schedule, a classification index, and an application for your convenience.  For those needing to renew their license, you may mail or bring the completed application by Town Hall.  The mailing address is 4776 Highway 165, Meggett, SC 29449.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact this office at (843) 889-3622.
