Buster Herrington, Presidend Pro Tem

 

Buster Herrington, a life long resident of Meggett, graduated from St Paul’s Country Day School in 1987 and attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and Auburn University. He is president and co-founder of The Lowcountry Antique Tractor & Engine Association, a member of the Exchange Club of St Paul’s Parish, a board member of the South Carolina Farm Bureau and a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. Buster is married to Laurie (Steele) Herrington. They have a son, Van Herrington.

Keith McCarty

Keith McCarty was born and raised in Norris, Tennessee. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from the University of Tennessee in 1983 and a Law Degree from the University of Memphis in 1986. After law school Keith served in the US Navy as a member of the Judge Advocate General's Corp.  He was stationed in Charleston from 1986 through 1990. After the navy, he and wife Lea Ann moved back to Tennessee. In 1994 the McCarty's moved by to Charleston and purchased the property in Meggett. Keith is a partner in the law firm of Pratt-Thomas Walker. He and Lea Ann have three children, Connor, India, and Meredith. He is presently serving his second consecutive term on the Meggett Town Council.

Tom Hutto

Tom Hutto was born in Charleston, and has science degrees from the College of Charleston and the University of Georgia. He and wife, Barbara Neale, moved to Meggett in 1994. Since 1987, he has worked as an environmental consultant with The GEL Group (formerly General Engineering) serving industrial, municipal, and commercial clients. His professional roles include technical and regulatory evaluations, project management, personnel management and business management. He is excited to have the opportunity to use this blend of experience to serve the citizens of Meggett.

Tommy Butler

Tommy moved to Meggett in 1977 becoming the third generation to live on the family farm.  A graduate of St. Paul's Academy (formerly Country Day), he has a Bachelor of Science degree in Administrative Management from Clemson University.  He is the Charleston Regional Office Audit Manager for the South Carolina Department of Revenue.  Elected to the Town Council in 2000, he graduated from the Institute of Government for Elected Municipal Officials in 2003.  He and his wife, Paula, have three children.  Tommy has served on Town Council in the past also.
